6 Abbreviations/Acronyms You Should Know

Today we have cre­ated a list of 6 abbre­vi­a­tions or acronyms that you as a blogger/webmaster should know.

DP

When some­one says “I found it on DP”, or “I posted it on DP”, they mean Dig­i­tal Point forums. DP is the acronym for Dig­i­tal Point.

BP

Bud­dy­Press, or BP, is rel­a­tively a new acronym. Bud­dy­Press is the social net­work­ing plu­gin cre­ated by Word­Press to work with Word­Press MU.

PS

PS, or Pho­to­shop, is used mostly by design­ers, because they’re usu­ally the ones who use Pho­to­shop the most, but you’ll hear peo­ple every­where talk­ing about it.

DW

Like Pho­to­shop for design­ers, DW is mostly for coders. DW stands for DreamWeaver, another pro­gram by Adobe that allows you to code. Again, it’s mostly used by coders, but you’ll hear it now and then.

WP

I’m pretty sure that 99% of you read­ing this blog know what WP stands for, and what it means. It stands for WordPress.

SP

This is not used that often, but I thought I’d include it in here any­ways. SP used to be used a lot, because of the famous Site­Point mar­ket­place, but because now it’s Flippa, peo­ple don’t use SP that often.
